you didn't mention my time on the throne."
Guy "Your bowel movements are of little or no concern to
us."
Todd "The next thing we knew, the castle
was overrun by imps."
Dan "I believe that was 'pimps.'"
Ghost of Ameer (funky music)
Giselle "Don't tempt me Gregory! I'm
ready to break out the piercing gun and the black leather!"
Gregory "Tell Gabriel. He can sell tickets."
Giselle (Speaking about Benedict) "He refused a direct
request from the Unicorn; the pig must die!"
Gregory "I think that's another ticket event."
Dan "'The Winds that Will Be'-it sounds like
eating breakfast over at my aunt's house."
Giselle "After our ménage à trois with Lugh, Gregory
and I returned refreshed to Arden."
Gregory "Lugh seems very effective, in his way."
Giselle "He is very effective."
Gregory "But just a bit annoying."
Gregory (Speaking about Brand) "He could be out of his
tiny mind…."
Giselle "So, your fey blood is showing. You
want to collect a debt."
Gregory "Not really. I want to make him suffer because he's a tosser."
Sara "Now your English blood is showing."
Guy "Yes, well, 'tosser' suits Aedan
well."
GM (describing the selection of candy bars available)
"There are no 'Babe Ruths'-only 'Paydays.'"
Dan "It must be Brand!"
Magni (to grooms handling his horse) "Hey! Hands off
the cruise!"
Sara "Giselle tries to find out what people wear
to funerals in Amber, because screaming pink doesn't seem quite right."
GM "Black."
Sara "The only thing I have in black is chaps with no butt."
GM "…that works."
Monkey Demon (gesturing at his mouth inexplicably)
Aedan "No, thanks. I'm not hungry."
Monkey Demon (waves angrily and walks off)
GM (helping Aedan become hopelessly lost in Mandor's house)
"…so what do you do now?"
Todd/Aedan "I summon the Logrus."
All other PC's (listening expectantly, as Aedan's Logrus skills seemingly
qualify as the Best Kept Secret in the Game.)
GM
(After pausing to express her incredulity through facial expressions) "No,
you don't."
Todd
"Dang! But did you see how quiet the room got for a moment? Everyone
was just waiting to see what was going to happen while pretending not to listen."
Sara
"I know I was!"
Dara (to Aedan, inquiring why in the world he came to the
Courts of Chaos) "Were you forced to come here?"
GM (describing Despil Sawall) "He's tall, almost effete--he's
a poet."
Despil (beginning to compose a haiku to the winner of the
duel?) "Trisp. Well-done."
Gregory (trumping Magni) "If I come through, can
I leave by Trump?"
Magni "Yes. I double-checked already."
Gregory "Well, that's better assurances than I received from the
half-wit."
Magni "I should warn you, though. The half-wit
is around here somewhere."
Gregory "Brand locked Flora, Giselle, and
all of Finnvarr's stony cronies in a blue crystal cave."
Magni "And that's bad?"
Gregory "Well, it was inconvenient."
Martin "If you hear from Brand-'hear from,'
as opposed to 'be imprisoned by'-have him contact me."
Todd "So then I followed this monkey
demon-"
Dan "Todd! Never follow a monkey demon!"
Todd "But Mandor told me to!"
