Winds That Will Be Story Index
We invite you to read the story of the Winds That Will Be campaign through your game-log method of choice:
The Journals, particularly Aedan's Journal, are perhaps the most coherent; the Chronicles, like game-logs, are the least biased (and come with notes from the GM); and the Quotes, are, well, quotes. If you like that sort of thing, then this is the sort of thing you will like.
Introduction
Over thirty years have passed since Random was crowned King. In recent years, the situation in Amber has deteriorated. Random's rule has been troubled by strife within the family. Benedict has forcibly replaced Julian in Arden. Gerard has grown erratic and relinquished command of the Navy. Corwin is drunk night and day. Brand has returned from the Abyss, but he is unwell.
And Fiona believes the Pattern is changing, somehow.
(Note: For Entertainment Purposes Only. Actual Facts
MayDiffer. Also, see the Chronicler's Notes.)(GM Note on the Chronicles: While Todd's Chronicles do effectively list the "public" events of the campaign -- i.e. events witnessed by two or more characters -- they were written only to remind the players of what happened, not to give any coherent account of the game's flow or the complete story. If you want a more story-like version of events that is fairly cohesive, read the version presented through Aedan's Journals, below. It reflects very accurately his character's experience of the game, and includes several wonderful and intense scenes with accurate transcriptions of dialogue and terrific descriptions of Aedan's inner life during this time. I highly recommend it as a story, not just a game log. It almost worth saying, "So tell me about your character," a phrase that normally brings terror to the hearts of the sane.)

Todd (Aedan) looked up: "skeevy" adj 1. gross, creepy; ICKY, etc. Term was common in Brooklyn, NY, USA in the 1950s and 1960s. ("He's so skeevy.")
Ameer (Gabriel) replied: That is it? I was hoping for ... "subtly manipulative, maniacally power mad, (ir)rationally paranoid, unabashed megalomaniac." Skeevy will always mean that in my heart ... and one day, when you look in the dictionary and see the word skeevy, I can only hope that you will see my face illustrated as the personification of it.

In the session which spurred this particular rambling, Giselle was sent by Mandor (aka her Uncle Dagda) to ask Merlin certain questions related to the demon who tried to carry off Martin. She had felt (being a teenager) prepared to handle just about anything. She could cope with Fae Kings, Chaosian Lords, and Amber's Princes; but in all his vast array of lessons, advice and tutoring, Mandor had carefully not armed her against Merlin. Giselle hadn't the tiniest defense against a human man and plain mortal charm. --Sara Mueller (Giselle)

Guidelines: When you read the quotes, you'll quickly discern that sometimes the CHARACTER is speaking, and sometimes the PLAYER is yapping away. Character's words are captured after their names. If a Player said something when his/her character didn't, I tried to use the player's name instead to show that it was an out-of-character remark. |
