The World Is Too Much with Us
by William Wordsworth

The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers;
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!
This Sea that bares her bosom to the moon;
The winds that will be howling at all hours,
And are up-gathered now like sleeping flowers;
For this, for everything, we are out of tune;
It moves us not. Great God! I'd rather be
A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn;
So might I, standing on this pleasant lea,
Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn;
Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea;
Or hear old Triton blow his wreathèd horn.

Overview

The Winds That Will Be (WTWB) campaign began with a BANG on May 14, 2000. Twice a month we ate breakfast at the John Street Cafe, traipsed over to Guy and Simone's house, and gamed away our Saturdays until concluding on December 15, 2001.

On that date half of the PC's died.

To learn how we got to that point, read the Chronicles. If that doesn't answer all of your questions, ask our GM, Simone (at) wyrdrune (dot) com. She'll give you "That Look," but after you ply her with enough good wine or lousy grappa, she will sigh and say, "First, let me just say that it didn't quite happen exactly the way Todd described it in the Chronicles...." For this website she has supplied GM Commentary as side notes to the Chronicles.

You can also read about the new campaign, The Book of Myths, here. It is set in the future of the world created by the PCs in Winds That Will Be.
