Future
Shock (Curtis Mayfield) Giselle couldn’t get to Merlin-who-wasn’t-quite-Merlin, so she went to a safe place in the Fae realms to sleep. She cuddled up with her cozy, six foot long, helix-shaped, black, pitted sword and dreamed funky dreams about killing Unicorns and vinyl pants. Raj
was disappointed by his chat with Bleys. He checked in on Magni, busily
stealing things from Benedict’s Estate while ostensibly keeping an eye
on Martin. Raj trumped Gregory, who told him that he had found Julian
in a weird place. Raj trumped Gabriel next, who was standing five feet
from Gregory but not picking his nose. It seems Julian was enclosed in some sort of concentric power nexus far far far from Amber. He was clutching a black urn inside a black vortex and doing nasty, black things that involved a lot of his blood oozing from many wounds about his body. Gregory and Gabriel watched him for a while, then they waded in and freed him somehow. Julian wanted to talk to Flora, so they all went to her demesnes in Chaos and had tea and crumpets. Julian was grumpy as he wanted scones.

GM's Commentary in which you will find some references to the actual events that occurred in the game -- usually less amusing (or flattering to Todd's character) than the Chronicler's version...

Shake Your Groove Thang (Peaches & Herb)Aedan,
bruised and battered, had a long conversation with Corwin who wasn’t quite
Corwin, in the Temple Beneath the Pattern. Aedan had been practicing his
Kegel exercises, so he was able to summon forth his Groove Thang and get
his super-powers back. Then he freed Corwin, so to speak1,
destroyed the Temple, and ran naked up the long staircase saying, “Wheeee
(to paraphrase Ameer).” Giselle
awakened refreshed and only slightly tousled. Raj trumped her and they
spoke at some length. Giselle opined that the Unicorn was old, and that
she was running around the multiverse because she didn’t know what else
to do. Also, Giselle saw the Seraph, got a big sword, and didn’t kill
the Unicorn when she had the opportunity to do so. Raj didn’t speak much. Gregory
and Gabriel bathed in a copper, planished bathtub while Flora and Julian
plotted nefarious plots. Then Gabriel watched Gregory eat. Gregory ate
a whole lot. Gabriel tried trumping Brand unsuccessfully so many times
that I’m not going to mention it any
more. Aedan ran up the stairs past the guards who wisely stepped out of his way. Someone was following him, but he ignored that GM hint and sprinted onward and upward. Then he ran into Raj. Aedan explained that he was following his light-wisp and couldn’t lose sight of it or the spell would be useless. Meanwhile, behind Aedan, King Eric who wasn’t quite dead came stomping up the stairs. He ordered Raj to stop Aedan, which Raj did. Aedan said “No, no, I must follow the wisp,” and everyone watched as the wisp stopped and waited patiently for Aedan to follow it. Stupid wisp. Eric and Aedan obfuscated while Raj tried to discern what was really going on. Aedan charged up his Groove Thang and disappeared in a cloud of psychadelic juju. Poof.

1. i.e. killed him. But first, Aedan killed Caine, the man who had raised him, albeit harshly. The Tower's voice (or was it?) advised Aedan that he needed to reclaim "his strength" -- Greyswandir -- in order to survive his ordeal. So he reached out for it and discovered that it was currently being used by Caine to sail with what remained of this Amber's fleet along the edge of the Abyss. Aedan plucked it from Caine's hand in the sure knowledge that Caine and all the fleet would be destroyed if he did so. Then he healed himself and reached out to the Tower's voice again, backed by the power of Greyswandir; she told him she could not help him... unless he did something to enable her to come into being in this Amber's reality. She suggested any number of things, but hinted that the most sure and powerful was always the sacrifice of blood... |

Free Your Mind and Your Ass Will Follow (En Vogue)Giselle
explored her own body and the basement of the Fey castle. Her body was
weird and not familiar to her. It was too pale, almost like bleached bone.
In the basement she found a seated statue under a tarp. It was Finnvarra,
easily recognizable by the gash in his neck. Giselle went back to her
workshop just in time to be hauled away by Lugh, throwing her over his
shoulder like the Lugh of old, only this one only had one hand. Gregory
and Julian spoke while Flora and Gabriel played footsie under the table.
Ha! And you thought I didn’t notice! Julian had been trying to summon/free
Leviathan, a big nasty beasty that would play the Game on the same level
as the metaphysical beings we call Eve, The Tower, etc. Flora had helped
him.2 Gregory trumped Giselle
and brought her through so Julian could threaten her. They put Julian
to bed and discussed the fact that things were Changing, again. As if
to reinforce that point, Julian disappeared and his bed was suddenly all
neat and tidy as if he had never been there. Whoa. Aedan
reappeared outside Giselle’s Workshop. He broke in and looked for some
clothes. He didn’t find any. Instead, some guards found him and took him
to see King Lugh. Of course, he never got to meet the king, but that is
another story…. Raj went to knock on Deirdre’s door. Gregory joined him. Deirdre was being fitted for a new gown in apparent preparation for Martin’s coronation. She closed the door. Gregory and Gabriel spoke just outside her door for a couple minutes, then they knocked again. Eventually, a servant answered. Deirdre was gone. Oh, and Martin was king. It was supposedly only a week ago now. The servant shut the door and time continued apace.

2. ...just to explain, Julian and Flora were doing this in order to focus the destructive abilities of Amber and Chaos on an outside, mutual threat, giving Amber time to recover from what Chaos had inflicted and possibly regain a chance to win or at least stalemate the current war. Remember this when Gregory starts interacting with Leviathan later. |
