We Represent the Spooky Grove Guild

Raj and Aedan spoke with Deirdre. She knew next to nothing about the Sisters. So Raj went and found Bleys doing military things in the East Garden. Bleys told him a thing or two and then trumped Gabriel.

Magni and Gabriel had a long talk while riding out to recover the horses accidentally left behind when Eve appeared. Magni disclosed what had happened with Ygg, The Tower woman, and the one-armed gorilla. They searched for the Spooky Grove of the Tower but couldn't find it.

Aedan trumped Brand and rescued him from a whiz-bang fight. They spoke at some length, revealing the fact that Gabriel is, in fact, actually Brand's daughter, which explains the boyish appearance. Now everything is starting to make sense. Aedan helped the Alchemist with his experiments and sent a messenger to the Church to inquire what exactly the "inappropriate offerings" were.

GM's Commentary

in which you will find some references to the actual events that occurred in the game -- usually less amusing (or flattering to Todd's character) than the Chronicler's version...

Follow the Yellow Brick Bauble

Magni and Gabriel returned to Amber via Gerard's trump. Magni drank a whole bottle of scotch and Gabriel didn't. Gabriel went to the Library where he met Aedan. Gabriel let Aedan read his secret GM note that Bleys allegedly found. Magni arrived and disclosed that Ygg had revealed unto him many truths about the universe:
1. There were Four Sisters, one of whom may be gone forever.
2. One Sister follows in Eve's wake and cannot be seen.
3. One Sister walks in Shadow.
4. One Sister waits in the Abyss.

But wait, there's more! Eve and the Tower each had a "test." Eve was released from her test a while back. She was weak but has been getting stronger. Both Eve and the Tower were only able to manifest after the explosion on the Pattern. The Tower hasn't been made whole yet. Also, soon the Sister Who Walks in Shadow will meet the Sister Who Waits in the Abyss. So, be prepared. Magni indicated that he really really wanted to go to the Courts of Chaos to get a front row seat for the meeting.

Aedan trumped Mandor, who was particularly cranky. Aedan trumped Giselle, twice, but she refused to pull Magni and Aedan into Chaos, citing personal etiquette (she had "sex hair"). However, Giselle was kind enough to provide the boys with a fey bauble that would teleport them to her hotel. They rode out into Arden to use it.

Ding Dong Osric is Dead

Raj had been busy. He went to the shadow where Osric, Searlas, and their Unseelie army were isolated. He found the after-effects of a big battle. Most of the Unseelie were dead of starvation, heat stroke, or being stabbingly-abled. Osric was mostly dead as well. Searlas was dazed, so Raj swiped the trump sword. Raj trumped Gerard to get his assistance. He called Magni in to steal Osric's stuff. The four Amberites went back to Amber, but Osric was still dead.

Gabriel performed a trump scrye that was inconclusive. He worked on his trump sketch of The Serpent. Then he did other skeevy things that I am not at liberty to describe.

We're Off to See the Sisters

Aedan rode on through Arden a ways. Magni returned showing off his new vambrace. Now he has two. Aedan used Giselle's bauble. They appeared in the lobby of a particularly expensive hotel in the Courts of Chaos. They got a room with a lovely view of the Abyss, which actually enabled them to see the effects of what appeared to be earthquake tremors. Magni and Aedan went out to investigate and saw part of the ground fall into the Abyss. They helped rescue and heal people. The Great Serpent arose out of the Abyss. Coming from the other direction, the eight-foot tall steel gray unicorn stomped through the city, killing thousands of innocent demons who only wanted to pick flowers and write poetry. Magni petted the Serpent just as it opened its mouth1. The Unicorn stomped in and both of them disappeared into the Abyss.

Gabriel looked into Gerard's sudden amnesia. The Big Guy let Gabriel poke around in his brain and try to fix it. Aside from planting a compulsion to stop swatting men on the ass and saying "Attaboy," Gabriel was unable to do anything. He and Raj checked on Searlas, still unconscious in the Castle Infirmary, before going to the Pattern room. There, Gabriel studied a sketch so intently that he ended up walking the Pattern. At the center, he thought for a while before teleporting into one of the GM's favorite places: "I'll get back to you."

1. No, really, he did.

This was the first of many times in which Magni took severe damage to his poor hand; in this case, the flesh on the part of his hand that touched the Serpent froze instantly and later sloughed off.

Somewhere Over the Abyss

In Chaos, King Merlin arrived and said he would meet Aedan and Magni later in their hotel. They went and freshened up. Merlin came and spoke privately with them. He explained that people were going to see the Unicorn's trudging through the city killing people as an act of aggression on Amber's part. He wanted to talk to Martin, but he could never get through. So Aedan called Martin, but Random's son really really didn't want to talk to Merlin. Aedan kept the connection open and Merlin joined it for a second. Then he told Magni and Aedan, "That's not Martin."
