Undertow — Rio Character Quiz
Rio, Daughter of Bleys

1) How do you feel about the fact that your parent is extremely powerful compared to yourself and, even moreso, compared to shadow dwellers? Have you adopted their attitudes or rebelled against them?Rio doesn't even really think about the fact that her father is more powerful than herself. Of course, he is. It's his nature. He's Bleys -- a unique supernatural being. There is no need to define him (or any of her other Aunts and Uncles) or to compare them to other creatures. They are what they are, even as she is what she is. That they are powerful, ruthless, cruel, passionate, whimsical, malevolent or whatever is as each according to their own nature and requires no further thought.
Rio hasn't either adopted Bleys' attitudes or rebelled against them, because - after all - she is as *she* is. What other people think, even her father, doesn't have any bearing on that. Rio is the first, last and only judge of Rio. No one else matters. That's the way she has always thought, and the way she's likely to continue thinking throughout her existence.
2) How do you feel about the fact that Amber is denied to you, at least 'until you're ready?"
Amber is pretty intoxicating and Rio *would* like to spend more time there, especially not at her Father and Uncle's whims. But she doesn't really see what she can do about it at this time, so there's no point in fretting over something she can't change. Rio is very much an 'in the moment' girl and pretty much without long-term ambition, so this isn't sooo much a concern for her.
3) If your Amber parent could be different than they were, what one thing would you most like to change about them?
Padre seems to spend a lot of time politicking, plotting and planning. Rio feels that this interferes with his enjoyment of life. It *could* be a survival trait, Rio just might admit, but it still seems like such a waste.
4) What would you most like to do with your Amber parent, in an ideal world?
Sleep with him. Padre gets all strange any time those types of situations come up and Rio can't really understand why. What do the rules of men have to do with beings like herself and her father? :)
5) Do you respect or fear your Amber parent?
Yes! Definitely! One does not push a being like Bleys too far. I imagine that some of the times Bleys dragged Rio out of Amber were less than pleasant for the young lady.
6) What do you want most from your Amber parent?
Keys to the Mercedes. :) ie, the freedom to stalk through shadow on her own. Rio doesn't know that it's the Pattern that grants that, she just knows that all of her Aunts and Uncles can do it. And she suspects that it might not be tied to their natures but something learned. However, both Caine and Bleys have been careful not to inform the girl of how she could *really* throw a wrench into their little contest.
