Undertow — Dartmouth's end game

Dartmouth - Undertow End Game

© 2005 John Lees

All I really recall doing [at the end] was getting trumped out by Brand, I don't think it was specified at the time where it was that we were trumping to exactly. I'd imagine at this point Dartmouth is feeling rather like he has let his father down. Not that he was directly responsible or anything, but that there was perhaps something which he could have done to head off the whole messy situation there at the end. "Gosh, that didn't go well at all did it?" seems to be not the best thing to say to a guy that has just been bashed by a huge avatar of the Pattern itself.

Last I heard, trumps were working (sort of), so wherever we go, I will try to get dad and myself back to Kashfa (assuming that he is in no shape to initiate another trump) and check on my brother who was hit rather hard when the Pattern went down the first time.

So, Ian, from what John wrote above it looks like Brand initiated the Trump call. So, was it to Kashfa or someplace else you can think of?

--Ian
My recollection of the event was that Brand felt that they were in danger--no duh--and that something of power would be needed to stand up to the new Pattern monster. Monster? Sure, why mince words?

He tried to trump to the Font. He knows he can no longer access the Pattern. I'm a little fuzzy on whether or not he can still make Trumps, but I believe it was no longer available to him. I recall some kind of caginess in terms of teaching Trump without actually being able to do it anymore. The Font is the last source of Power that he knows, short of going back to Chaos, which isn't really an option right now.
