1) How do you feel about the fact that your parent is extremely powerful compared to yourself and, even moreso, compared to shadow dwellers? Have you adopted their attitudes or rebelled against them?
Brent is so obsessed with his own perfection that Corwin's strengths seem like nothing to him, his hatred blinds him to his powers. The shadow dwellers are lesser, except for one.
2) How do you feel about the fact that Amber is denied to you, at least "until you're ready?"
Extremely bitter. The pattern walk, from all that I have heard, is the ultimate test. It is but one facet of his father's all consuming weakness that prevents him from walking it this very day. Corwin's ineptness as a parent should not be allowed to mar his own development as a Prince of Amber.
3) If your Amber parent could be different than they were, what one thing would you most like to change about them?
Corwin would take responsiblity for the world he created in the Patternfall war. He would cease to hide in the shadows, and claim his spot on the throne, like a real man. But that is just a dream...
4) What would you most like to do with your Amber parent, in an ideal world?
Not sure how to answer this, I see 2 interpretations: A) ideal world where she is completely differnt and I don't hate her B) ideal world where I can do as I want without interferance... So I'll answer both
A) Brent actually craves the acceptance and love of his father. His distance and almost overwhelming concern over Amber was the first wedge in his original, childish love. He wishes they could be a normal family, at least for a while, and put away all the pagentry
B) Corwin would be relegated to the sidelines. He would be unable to interfere with Brent's plans and dreams. He would show himself to be the weakling that he is to the entire family.
5) Do you respect or fear your Amber parent?
His power in Amber. He must have been doing something there all his years... what if Corwin denied him his right to the Pattern, or otherwise closed off that most perfect of realms (Amber) to him?
6) What do you want most from your Amber parent?
An ackowlegement of my superiority. He should bow to me like a King, for I am superior. He craves this, and this is the actual goal of all of his determination (regardless of how foolish that might be)
