Opening: Had contact with Corwin and Gerard... Got food for them and working with Llewella, helped provide some dancing girls for Gerard's diversion...
I met everyone except uncle Caine, who I was carefully avoiding because of an (according to Bleys) accidental but bloody skirmish my AEF unit and some of his seals got into. Bleys decided it would be a good idea to stay away from him for a while... I agreed.
Discovered that Rio and I had met before... Arranged to go hunting later.
Browsed room... Met about everyone.
Later: I'm hunting Bandersnatch in Shadow with Rio... A shadow she knows.
I am mentally attacked by something evil that tries twice to possess me... We discover Trumps don't work.
I seal off the part of my mind that holds this possessing force... Demon from center of pattern. We finally get back to Amber.
Am told by Corwin about Mom's death... Great shock. BTW... he isn't so sure she's dead. With her psi she might have gotten a warning just in time to escape... No chance to look into this.
Listened to Corwin saying that the selfishness of the Amberites was to blame... Changes are needed... ( This is good.) There is confusion who is really in charge. Vialle is a figurehead.
Go to see the pattern. Think Rio was there... Not sure who else.
Studying what is left of pattern. Unicorn arises from it. I let it cut my hand with its horn. So did the others. Will have to ask Leslie who else was there... Rio and two others--- I think her brother, and an elder. (Brand was the elder -simone)
I see a vision of the Unicorn, a beautiful woman, and an idealized version of the Serpent. I figure this is natural since Dworkin was originally a Chaos Lord, and the Jewel was one of its eyes.
I open myself to them. Next thing I know I'm ten feet tall with a body of crystal, and there is a voice in my mind... "These people are inimical to the gret destiny of the Pattern! Kill Them!" With this thought roaring in my mind, I hit the elder but not fatally... The three escaped by a trump the elder had.
I am left there alone in the pattern room trying to control this determination to kill everyone...
